Meet Our Board of Directors

The mission of the Historic Black Towns and Settlements Alliance, Inc. is to work collaboratively to actively preserve and promote the heritage, history and culture of these historic places by utilizing their human, environmental, built (engineering, landscape, architecture), arts and humanities resources to nurture economic development and to support an enhanced quality of life for their residents, neighbors and fellow Americans.

What We Do

The Purpose of the Historic Black Towns and Settlements Alliance, Inc. (HBTSA) is to establish, develop, promote and maintain an educational, cultural and research center, a depository of historic material, exhibition of information with reference to the various ethnic or racial groups particularly Americans of African descent who have made contributions to the City of Tuskegee, Alabama; Town of Eatonville, Florida; City of Grambling, Louisiana; Town of Hobson City, Alabama; City of Mound Bayou, Mississippi, and any other city or town that the Directors of the Corporation may designate as a historic Black town or settlement.
